bio

b. Joinville, SC, Brazil

She works in a variety of techniques, including photography, collage, assemblage, installation, and sculpture. She gathers and reuses domestic, non-artistic, materials that stem from the maintenance of the body and household routines, as well as feminine-related objects. She is interested in the historical layers within women’s culture which originated from the patriarchal discourse that shapes our social representation system. The house – symbol of women's resignation – and women's domesticated bodies/minds are germinal conditions for the artist to create. Since 2023 she has been exploring tree-dimensional works through assemblages.

Currently, she has been part of McColl Center Studio Artist Program in Charlotte, USA. She received her degree in Industrial Pharmacy in 2000, earned a Master’s in Marketing in 2005, and studied Semiotics in 2010. In 2011, she studied Photography at Centro Internacional de Fotografía y Cine in Madri. After returning to Brazil in 2015, she worked as a photographer and took a collage course at the Tomie Ohtake Institute in Sao Paulo in 2017. Since 2018 she has been living in Charlotte, NC, USA. Periodically, she travels back to Sao Paulo where she has had a studio since 2023 enabling her to work from both countries.
