Karina Walter is a Brazilian photographer and multidisciplinary artist who lived in the USA during 2018 and 2024. In her last year, she was part of McColl Center Studio Artist Program in Charlotte.
Currently, she has had a studio in Sao Paulo.
She works in a variety of techniques, including photography, collage, assemblage, installation, and sculpture. She uses household materials, some gathered from home, and others found in thrift shops and hardware stores. She also searches for objects in her personal archive.
She is interested in the unfolding of the discourse that naturalizes the objectification and subjection of women, and finding ways to question gender stereotyping.
